The code stores a https://wa.me link. It does not add you to anyone’s contacts.

What number format should I use?
Digits and a country code, with no plus sign needed. An Indian mobile is 91 followed by 10 digits.
Will this message send itself?
No. WhatsApp opens with the message filled in. They choose whether to send it.
Does this work on a computer?
Scanning with a phone opens the WhatsApp app. The same link on a computer opens WhatsApp Web if they use it.
